I met Donimo and we built a friendship after she had contacted me by email through my nature photography website, wishing and inviting me to share and talk about our creative endeavours. It was the loveliest email message and introduction and welcoming…exceptionally thoughtful, truly kind, wonderfully gracious, so welcoming and inviting, really beautiful. It was like nothing I recall having ever received before…a kind of beautiful grace that one rarely sees anymore. (I am rewriting/typing this from scratch on this very important day as sadly I lost my too-slow draft in tribute.)
D and I conversed/emailed/shared regularly/often…and I appreciated every one of our interactions, we supported one another in our health and disability, shared our nature photos regularly, both dearly loved hummingbirds and talked about our feeders and sightings (which she loved to hear about), and she became a special, very dear friend. Her friendship meant so much to me. I really miss her a lot. I think of her very often. I think of her when my hummingbirds fly in. When a gentle breeze floats in or past. When the clouds are exquisite. When something is a certain kind of blue. And when a bird flies by freely, soaring on the wind. D had a special kind of grace, confidence, clear spirit and energy, always openly loving and kind and thoughtful. Her presence is deeply missed.
Like others here and countless more, I miss her a lot. She is remembered often. And always will be.
Much love and hugs to you all, Cheryl & the hummers
